Planning a Group Tour of the US South West

The southwest of US has forever been a fan favorite when it comes to group tours. The land is not only rich in history and amazing archaeological finds but boasts of a plethora of natural wonders including the great Grand Canyon. So, if you are planning on going on a group road trip through the southwestern parts of the USA, you have to plan it well.

There are a lot of things to see and experience and you might not be able to fit all of them into your itinerary. There are also a lot of things to keep in mind to ensure that the trip goes smoothly and everyone has fun. So, if you are stuck planning the first road trip of your life and are freaking out a little, here is a list of tips and tricks that should help in planning the most epic trip of your lives.

1. Choose transportation

When choosing transportation, you must remember to account for the size of the group and make sure everyone will have space to breathe through the journey. If you are a tiny group and you plan on driving, you can rent a car. But if your group is a bit large, you might want to get a private charter bus rental price quote. The rental buses usually come with a GPS device so everyone can relax and have fun while the bus driver worries about the routes and traffic along the way.

2. Map your destination

Like we already mentioned, the southwest of the United States is blessed with a lot of amazing places to see and things to do. There are scores of natural wonders that will take your breath away the moment you behold it. But, despite the appeal, time is limited – so you need to choose.

Discuss with everyone in the group and decide on the places where you want to stop at along the way. Make sure everyone is on the same page because if one or two people don’t like the idea of going somewhere and stop having fun, they might bring down the entire group.

The Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, the Valley of Fire State Park, the Zion National Park, Antelope Canyon, and Horseshoe Bend are some most popular destinations of the south-western states. And there is, of course, the Grand Canyon, which is something you cannot afford to miss during your road trip.

3. Choose Your Pit Stops

While deciding on places to go and fun things to do on the trip is important, it is also important to let everyone relax and stretch their legs. Make sure to have a list of gas stations and eateries along the way where you can stop to replenish your food stock and take a bathroom break. These are also good opportunities to fill up the gas tank and make sure everyone has been having fun on the trip.

4. Plan Your Accommodations

If your road trip is going to last more than 3-4 days, sleeping on the bus might not be a good option. Sometimes everyone might want to just lie on a real bed and have a roof over their head. So, researching on the hotels and motels you can rent during your trip area is a good option. But just in case everyone wants to camp and spend time amidst the nature, make sure to not forget your camping gear.

5. Plan Distractions

While it is very important to plan your road trip to the last detail, it is also important to forget everything and just have fun. A good playlist that you can sing along to is a major requirement but once that starts to get boring, you might want to engage everyone in interesting games and activities. Confused? Here’s a list of games you can play during your group trip that might help.
